Unlike traditional velvets, Gesture’s pile arises from the weft. Woven on a cotton warp, the long floats in the weft (an intimate blend of viscose and linen) are sliced and finished so they bloom open to reveal short, gestural color strokes. Like the work of Jack Tworkov, Gesture suggests the energy of movement with the repetition of soft colors in eight colorways. Offered with Teflon for extra protection in residential and hospitality settings, the 54” upholstery also exceeds 50,000 double rubs (Wyzenbeek, Cotton Duck).
