Among the 2 player games unblocked in the League of Legends universe that have been released over the past two years, it is Convergence that stands out in particular - unlike Ruined King and The Mageseeker, there are heroes of the sensational series Arcane here. That is, the 2 player game is potentially interesting to a wider audience - not only to hardened Runeterra fans who have read all the comics and stories, but also to newcomers who are familiar with this world only from the Imagine Dragons Enemy series and video.
Having learned that the main role was assigned to Ekko, many, I'm sure, came to Convergence hoping to see Jinx, charming to the point of madness (I personally eagerly caught every hint and mention of her), her sister Vai, their adoptive father Wander and other heroes of the series. And Jinx we really will see. What other hopes were justified, and in what way did the 2 player game disappoint?
And immediately disappoint the fans of Arcane . Yes, there is Ekko, Jinx and even Wander. More precisely, there is a chemtek wolf Warwick, but I agree with the theory that he from LoL -canon and Wander from the series are the same character, and in the second season of Arcane we will most likely be convinced of this.
But here classic images are taken as a basis. Ekko is not the leader of the Pyro gang who played with Jinx as a child, but above all a young inventor who created a bunch of unique devices, including a Z-drive that allows him to control time.
And Jinx is not a reflexive, split personality girl who got involved with bandits, but a reckless maniac who kills and destroys just for fun.
In the 2 player game, even her fans get from the crazy girl. Therefore, I, a fan of the serial Jinx, did not feel much sympathy for her during the fight between her and Ekko, although I was glad that she eventually escaped in her corporate style.
It's a pity that her appearance in Convergence looks far-fetched - at the level of a cameo especially for fans. In addition, there are several illogical situations in the plot - for example, when Ekko is transferred to the future and visits his parents, and they do not react in any way to the fact that outwardly his son has not changed at all.
And some connoisseurs of the not serial, but the canonical image of the Time Conqueror felt that the new story invented for Ekko in Convergence does not quite fit into this very image and only spoils it. However, opinions are divided here.
In any case, the plot is able to interest. Yes, it all starts as a typical story from the “Collect all the artifacts to save the world” series - we collect dangerous crystals, which are an unstable modification of the chemical tech, the Pondest and Ferros clans act as villains, and we save the city of Zaun mired in crime.
But in the end, everything turns out to be much more interesting. Ekko meets a very unexpected and familiar guest from the future; takes care of friends who have contacted "bad company"; periodically feels the approach of an unknown monster; teams up with some of those who wanted to kill him five minutes ago; but with those whom he considered a friend, he fights. And he tries to understand himself.

All this is accompanied by meetings with a variety of familiar Easter eggs and references that warm the fan's soul. That is, everything is done according to the quality standard for official League of Legends by Desura, where attention is paid to the plot, characters and lore.
Time Lord
However, the gameplay here is also in focus. Convergence is a time management platform 2 player game. We saw such mechanics in this genre - for example, in Braid and The Misadventures of PB Winterbottom, but there it is used in puzzles, and in Convergence - most often in fights.
Our young Kulibin, armed with a Z-drive, can rewind time to correct his actions and avoid damage. Rewind charges are not infinite, as is the duration of the procedure, but all this can be pumped. Uses Ekko and other familiar League of Legends abilities, including Parallel Convergence and Temporal Key Throw, which works like a boomerang but also slows down enemies.
For gears dropped from enemies and rare parts found, you can craft useful devices at the workbench - for example, they give the key the ability to pull enemies to the character, increase movement and attack speed, or restore health when rewind is activated. The number of devices used at the same time is limited, but after defeating each boss, the limit grows.
And in the Shelter, Ekko learns new combat techniques for the same gears - parry, enhanced strike, the ability to repel projectiles fired at us, etc. There are decent options, and they are not cheap. And rare parts are really rare and cleverly hidden. It was the search for details, and not collectible figures of champions and various “cosmetics” that motivated me to explore the locations. But in general, it's good that there are so many options here, what to look for and collect.
Convergence: A League of Legends Story is also a metroidvania. They won’t let us go anywhere right away, but new opportunities are gradually opening up - a double jump, a dash in the air, running along walls, the ability to famously slide along wires or break through some obstacles. After some time, we will be allowed to establish a sphere inside which everything freezes, including levers and buttons of mechanisms, jets of gas, blades rotating at a frantic speed, and even a massive press that strives to crush us.
It would seem that with such cheating opportunities, the game is seriously facilitated. But opponents very often take both in number and skill - especially when we are locked in the arena and crowds of different enemies are lowered. One launches a damaging wave, the other runs up and explodes, the third strikes the ground with a decent radius of destruction, the fourth from above fires projectiles that need to be repelled.
Even in battles with bosses (and they are almost all interesting here), it doesn’t burn as much as in fights in the arena - the farther, the more of them and the tougher they become. But often it is not your own hands that interfere, but management problems. The fact is that we cannot set the direction for throwing the key, and it often flies in the wrong direction at all.
In addition, sometimes it is difficult to understand at all where Ekko himself is in all this meat grinder. After all, in addition to the crowd of enemies on the screen, there is always his time projection, which is at a distance from the main character.
The recipe for survival is to get used to it, to fill your hand, to clearly, and not superficially master the rewind of time and not to forget about the search for the already mentioned rare parts for crafting devices - the more of them are activated, the easier it is for us. And you can also play with difficulty - there are very flexible settings here that allow you to separately determine the level of aggression of opponents, the intricacy of obstacles and combat scenarios, as well as the level of Ekko's health.
And this is a very correct decision - the 2 player games unblocked has become more accessible, everyone can adjust the difficulty for themselves and get a challenge. And even at the lowest settings, the enemies do not creep servilely in front of us and the passage does not turn into an analogue of the very easy “story modes”.
Yes, in Convergence: A League of Legends Story, not everything is fine with the controls and there may be questions about the plot. But you really want to play it - this is a dynamic, difficult, diverse and high-quality story platformer in a setting beloved by many. The 2 player games unblocked takes the best of the genre (even clichés, but that's perfectly fine) and complements them with interesting time management mechanics.
Pros: a good plot, which features familiar characters; exciting, varied and challenging gameplay that combines things familiar to the genre with working time management mechanics; an abundance of trials and really different enemies; many opportunities for fans to collect and collect; appropriate system of upgrades and crafting; nice graphics and music, high-quality voice acting - including in Russian.
